Zinc oxide is considered to be non-irritating, non-allergenic, and non-comedogenic.
In skin protectant applications, like a diaper cream, zinc oxide forms a protective barrier on the skin to help treat and prevent various skin conditions including minor abrasions, burns, chafing, diaper rash, insect bites, and skin irritation.
It is also popular for use in deodorant products and as a foot powder as it helps to prevent unpleasant odors.
